On Thursday, February 21, 2013, the Popular Community Bank Foundation distributed $27,448 to eight local organizations as part of its ongoing commitment to the communities it serves.
In addition, checks in the aggregate amount of $50,664 were presented to Food Bank For New York City and Salvation Army in New Jersey for their efforts in assisting those in need after the impact of Hurricane Sandy. Popular Community Bank donated $10,000 to each organization and opened up funding accounts for each for public donation while also matching contributions made to these accounts up to an additional $10,000 to each account.
The ceremony for the grant distributions, hosted by Popular Community Bank New York Region Executive Brian Doran, was held at one of Popular Community Bank’s branches located at 134 Delancey Street in Manhattan.
