The Bank Re-Commits to Harlem after 21 Years in the Neighborhood
The Popular Community Bank branch at 231 West 125th Street (between Adam Clayton Powell and Frederick Douglass Boulevards) has a new look, additional services and a Community Room for neighborhood events.
To celebrate, the bank is hosting a reception at the Harlem Branch for invited members of the community on Tuesday, April 30, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM.
“Since 1992 we have been committed to bringing Harlem a wide variety of banking services with the personal touch that keeps us connected to the community,” said Brian Doran, Popular Community Bank’s New York Region Executive. “We are pleased to do our part in revitalizing Harlem with this remodeling of our branch, including a new Community Room available for local community meetings and events. On the 200th anniversary of 125th Street, we recognize the importance of this historic thoroughfare to Harlem and New York. We are here to help individuals and businesses with all their banking needs. Please stop in and say hello.”
Popular Community Bank opened its first branch in New York in 1961 and now has 38 branches in the New York metropolitan area. In addition to providing banking services in its communities, Popular’s employees devote hundreds of hours every year to community organizations and financial literacy programs that benefit New Yorkers.
